this is one of three new paintings created solely in brewed coffee. as an artist i am constantly attempting to probe new and unique ways of expressing my artistic vision. using coffee as a painting medium is not a newly discovered endeavor. artist have been using alternative mediums for hundreds of years. my goal was to make fine art with this mundane yet massed consumed substance. it seems that coffee has become a staple of our everyday lives, and we tend to forget that looking at the little things in a new perspective can be applied to anything ....even coffee. Each piece is painted with brewed fair trade coffee on acid free water color paper. they are all framed with museum glass to protect the conservation integrity of the paintings.
